1. PROJECT 1: Health Systems Strengthening:

    HAR implemented the community Health Systems Strengthening Project-(HSSP-2017-2019) in partnership with USAID/URC. Under this, HAR sought to effectively support the strengthening of Community-Facility engagement. This was achieved through scaling up the implementation of interventions that have been shown to be effective as well as building multiple strategic partnerships, linkages and referral systems that are mutually supportive and promote effective delivery of quality health services. This project reached out to 25,300 individuals out of the targeted 27,000 (94%) of targeted for project life.

  2. PROJECT 2: Health Systems Advocacy Partnership Project (HSAP):

    Hope After Rape Implemented the health systems advocacy partnership project (2017-2020) in partnership with Amref Health Africa in Serere district, which was focused at; improving the health service delivery in Serere district through; advocating for improved Human Resource for Health (HRH), Human Resource Migration (HRM) and quality Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) commodities and services. The total number of beneficiaries registered at closing date, was 25,632 people, against the target of 25,000 individuals, thus giving (103%) achievement.

  3. PROJECT 3: Livelihood Support:

    Hope After Rape has implemented a livelihood project aimed at sustainably enhancing Kamuli District smallholder crop productivity, financial inclusion, access to market information. This was done through financial support from USAID /Feed The Future, and a total of 9,505 (6,654 male &2,852 female) small hold farmers, were reached through the project interventions. In pictures are some of the in kind grants Feed The Future project was giving to the small holder farmers to improve agriculture productivity.

  4. In July 2015, Hope After Rape signed a contract with Uwezo-Uganda/ Twaweza East Africa to coordinate the implementation of Uganda national learning assessment exercise in Serere district.
  5. In October 2013, HAR signed a three year contract of approximately 600 million shillings with Civil Society Fund (CSF)-a USAID funded project to implement a Serere Integrated Community Project (SICOP) aimed at reduction of new HIV infections and reduction in incidences of GBV in Serere district.
  6. In April 2014, HAR signed a one year contract with STAR-E under the support of MSH/ USAID to implement a project entitled, Community Health Facility Link (COHEFAL) project of approximately 110 million shillings. The project was aimed at increasing access to SRH services, coverage of and utilisation of quality comprehensive HIV/TB prevention, care and treatment services in health facilities (HF) and communities in Sironko district.
  7. In August 2013, HAR conducted capacity building training to OXFAM staff and violence against women (VAW) actors in Northern Uganda and Karamoja regions in areas of psychosocial support counseling under the support of OXFAM.
  8. In November 2011 to 2014, HAR signed a two year contract with Independent Development Fund (IDF)-a Democratic Governance Facility (DGF) supported grant maker to implement a two year project of approximately 170 million in Teso region entitled, Women and Children Access to Justice (WACAJ) project. The project was aimed at strengthening the existing legal Aid services, health services like SRHR, access to justice and realisation of human rights as fundamental preconditions for social justice to children and women.
  9. HAR in 2012 signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GOAL-Uganda for training its staff and other stakeholders in management and protection of children against sexual abuse and neglect.
  10. In 2011, Child Fund International stakeholders and volunteers in Kampala Federation Area were trained in management of GBV and making effective referrals.
  11. In November 2011, HAR signed a MoU with GBV prevention Network for coordinating a feminist counseling skills building event for East, Southern and Horn of Africa.
  12. In August 2011, HAR signed a contract with TASO under the support of Global Fund to implement a project aimed at reducing the risk of HIV infection and strengthen community management of its impact in young people in Teso, Busoga and Central regions of Uganda.
  13. In August 2011, HAR signed a MoU with John Hopkins University-a Health communication partnership for building capacity, mentoring, support supervision, effective referrals and documentation of Communication Development Foundation in Uganda (CDFU) hotline counselors in the areas of VAW.
  14. In 2011, HAR signed a MoU with Plan International Kamuli on issues involving media campaigns for children’s rights and responsibilities.
  15. In May 2010, HAR trained Child Fund stakeholders including ECD caregivers and staff on aspects of psychosocial support services in Teso region.
  16. In 2009 to 2011, HAR with support from IDF implemented community empowerment in women and children rights observance and advocacy project in Teso region aimed at building strong community advocates and strengthening existing networks to ensure respect, observance and support actions that promote and protect women and children’s rights.
  17. In December 2009 to end of June 2010, HAR carried out a community facilitation, baseline survey and client screening in partnership with International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in the sub counties of Lorengedwat and Moruita of Nakapiripirit District in Karamoja region. The purpose of the assessment was to discover level of vulnerability of the people in these selected sub counties in Nakapiripirit district.
  18. In 2009/2010, HAR implemented a rapid response to GBV programme in Matanda refuge transit center in Western Uganda with support from UNFPA. The specific objectives of the programme was to;
    • Reduce social tolerance to GBV in selected communities of refugees coming from Democratic Republic of Congo.
    • Develop a conducive legal and policy environment for strengthened accountability for GBV prevention and response for women and children.
    • Increase access to and availability of high quality and child friendly GBV response services for GBV survivors.
    • Strengthen partnership, learning, coordination and implementation of joint programmes on GBV.
  19. In October 2006, HAR in partnership with MGLSD, CORE Initiative with the support of USAID and CARE International implemented a Child Protection and Support Project (CPASP) mainly targeting the Orphans and other vulnerable children in Teso region. The project was aimed at providing psychosocial support services to OVCs.
  20. In between 1998 to 2006, HAR implemented a child rights education and support services (CRESS) project with support from Save the Children in Uganda (SCiU) in phases I, II, III, and IV. The implementation was done in partnership with Wakiso and Mpigi districts, ANPPCAN and FIDA-U where each organisation/institution portrayed its area of expertise-for HAR it was psychosocial support services.
  21. In 2000-2001, HAR was supported by Women Connect in a project called’ Inform a Woman, Educate a Child (IWEC). It also sponsored HAR’s e-mail for that period.
  22. In 2002-2003, HAR was supported by Global Fund for women to continue informing the women to educate the girl child.
  23. In 1997, British Council supported HAR to hold national conference on multi-sectoral approach on managing child sexual abuse.
  24. In 1999, UNICEF collaborated with HAR to spear head a walk and also advocate for not lowering the age of consent to sex.
  25. In 2002-2003, HAR was funded by End Child Pornography and Trafficking (ECPAT ) to spear head the development of Uganda National Action (2003-2007) on child sexual abuse and exploitation in Uganda.
